Little Budbridge Farm – Restoration of Grade II listed farmhouse
Services: Design and Project Management
The condition of the existing farmhouse was very poor. Traditional methods and materials have been used to restore the property to a high standard. The integration of existing adjoined ‘lean to’ stores helps provide additional space within the Ground Floor area without the need to extend the property.
The three storey house has been carefully restored re-using original materials including the roof tiles where possible. Limestone renders and plasters have been used and finished with natural lime washes.
Replacement windows have been handmade to original profiles and then carefully decorated.
Cement renders have been removed and the original stonework restored to its former glory.
The house’s sympathetic restoration needed to include facilities and equipment suitable for 21st century living, these include an impressive kitchen and en-suite facilities.
